Our magazine Professional Lighting Design is distributed worldwide in different language versions and is a market leader in its field. Our conventions and seminar events have achieved global recognition and are changing the marketplace. Furthermore, we represent a professional lighting designers’ association and organize or realize high-quality events on their behalf in Europe and overseas. Our company is currently growing – both in content and geographically. The VIA Group also includes a company in Sweden, an event management company, and a service company offering translations and editing/writing services.

Scope of work

You will be responsible for the sale of advertisement and online advertising in the field of Lighting Design and Architecture. This includes the acquisition of new advertisers, consulting and maintaining contact with the same, and developing the existing client base.

You will be expected to negotiate with the decision-makers in the respective national and international companies. You will need to attend international fairs and visit clients in their own firms. Furthermore, you will be expected to coordinate and develop an international network of partners and sales managers.

Requirements

We are looking for a person with commercial training (or a degree in Economics or Business Management) and experience working in sales in the print and online media field. You need to have an understanding of clients’ requirements and an ability to address them; flexibility and the ability to work under pressure. Communication skills and the ability to present relevant arguments in a convincing manner and address decision-makers confidently and gain their confidence are important. You need to be results-oriented and able to work independently. It is imperative to be able to speak and write excellent English. Required computer skills: Word/Excel/Access. It is an advantage to have some knowledge of architecture and / or lighting design. Driving licence obligatory.

Scope of work

You will be responsible for the contents of the Professional Lighting Design magazine. This comprises the research, acquisition and editing of specialist articles, writing articles and project reports and the design of the magazine. You will need to attend international fairs and events, attend press events lighting companies, and visit lighting designers in their practices. You will be part of a team and will be expected to coordinate your skills with those of other employees and colleagues. You will be responsible for developing the publishing company’s online presence and develop future-oriented communication channels.

Requirements

We are looking for a person with relevant training or a relevant degree in Architecture, Lighting Design or Culture and with experience in journalism and the media.

We would expect you to have communication skills and be able to discuss relevant topics with experts in the field. We would further expect you to be open and friendly and have an interest in culture, architecture, economic issues and the lighting market.

Required computer skills: Word/Excel/Outlook. You should be able to work independently as well as in a team. You should be flexible, have organisational skills and a generally positive outlook on life.

It is imperative to be able to speak and write excellent English.

You will be part of a team and co-responsible for the contents of the Professional Lighting Design magazine. This comprises the research, acquisition and editing of specialist articles, writing articles and project reports and the design of the magazine. You will need to attend international fairs and events, attend press events lighting companies, and visit lighting designers in their practices. You will be expected to coordinate your skills with those of other employees. You will be given your own website project as part of the publishing company’s online presence.

Requirements

We are looking for a person who enjoys writing about architecture, lighting design or cultural issues.

We would expect you to have communication skills and be able to discuss relevant topics with experts in the field. We would further expect you to be open and friendly and have an interest in culture, architecture, economic issues and the lighting market.

Required computer skills: Word/Excel/Outlook. You should be able to work independently as well as in a team. You should be flexible, have organisational skills and a generally positive outlook on life.
